I read this piece twice, attempting to take it all in and let it wash over me. I could appreciate some of what Elizabeth Doll has to say and yet at the same time was repulsed by it. There are definitely problems in some quarters of the Church and often it seems like the parts that affect people the most are not questions of substance but style, an ethos, and a kind of culture within the Church.

Mastriano, Dominionism, and Mennonite Capitulation

Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate and GOP nominee Doug Mastriano
represents the extreme edge of the Trumpite spectrum. A Christian Nationalist –
or in terms used here, a Dominionist and Christo-American, Mastriano promotes
the many lies of the Far Right and even the myths and delusions of QAnon. His
ties range from the Far Right fringe to sections of the Neo-fascist militia
movement.

Walls, Pulpits and Impoverished Hermeneutics
Nehemiah built walls to
keep his enemies out. So don't be too quick in condemning Donald Trump for
wanting to build one.
I heard this in a sermon on a recent Sunday. This is the
state of the Evangelical pulpit. Actually the congregation I was attending
would probably qualify as more of the Fundamentalist variety. Evangelicals
would probably be more likely to talk about the vocation of Border Guard and
how special they are in God's eyes for doing that holy task.

Very interesting. The article also mentions Doug Phillips of Vision Forum. Phillips is the son of the late Howard Phillips a name well known in Theonomic and Christian Right circles.
