Donald Trump hates the centre-left Spanish government of Pedro Sanchez. It has refused to cooperate with Trump's agenda and has pointedly condemned US actions against Iran.
Given that we now have calls for a 'Protestant Franco', this book should interest all readers. At present I can't seem to locate the book in English, and so that may be forthcoming. At least we'll hope so.
The particulars of the vote are a little tricky, but essentially VOX engineered the passage of this bill which only allows for public facilities to be utilised by groups that are approved by the local authority, groups which fit their conceptions of Spanish identity. Clearly some are tying this in with Christianity, specifically to counter Islam.

I was pleased to find this story touching on some larger questions that the mainstream media tends to downplay or ignore. The question of increased military budgets and militarism go hand in hand with the cutting of social services and tax cuts - some of the key economic planks of Trumpism.
One might wish that Evangelical leaders would be a little more familiar with history. If so, they might raise an eyebrow at the sabre-rattling of politicians and be a little more cynical of their motivations. Make no mistake, many are motivated by nationalist interests vis-a-vis Atlanticism or the EU. Others are simply in line to profit from military expansion and militarism.

This caught my eye because I've heard recent attempts by figures on the Right to argue that Francoism was not fascism. Usually the argument relies on limiting fascism to the Third Reich and anti-Semitic Hitlerism – and maybe taking into account something of Mussolini. Franco is treated as something outside this spectrum and usually much is made of the fact that his regime did not pursue anti-Semitic policies.
Listening to this latest installment of Allan Carlson being interviewed on Issues Etc., I kept thinking about the elephant in the room – the one that was never addressed.
Building bridges to society is basically another way of saying – find as much common ground as you can and try to redeem what you can. It sounds noble and well-intentioned but history demonstrates it's a formula for compromise and eventually capitulation.

These could have been Putin ordered hits but the larger story
is one of a smashed machine – of fissures become chasms. The sanctions regime
is pushing the Russian economy to the limits and while fortunes are made in
some cases and lost in others, many actors are forced to make rash decisions.
Debts are called in – sometimes they can't be paid because money was lost,
squandered, or used for other means. Such trying times expose these realities
and powerful men are quickly toppled.
As many readers will already know Paivi Rasanen is the
Finnish MP who has been brought up on charges regarding her anti-homosexual stand
and public statements she has made to that end. Her trial is complete and if
found guilty she faces jail time. It signals a real warning to Christians in
the West that the Sodomite factions that have come to dominate large sections
of Western capitalist society intend to prosecute dissidents.
While a formal bloc has not yet been created, a unified
agenda is coming together. This represents an early phase, a kind of proto-fascist
bloc beginning to form within the EU.

This is tragic in so many ways. Would it have ever occurred
to these Spanish Christians to seek out, emulate, and celebrate the 1848 Seneca
Falls Convention apart from American Evangelical influence?
