Ethical Dissonance: Western Evangelicalism and BJP India

https://www.mnnonline.org/news/dear-mr-pompeo-please-hold-india-accountable-for-its-oppression/

Confusion reigns as the compromised Western Church has no moral standing. Allying itself with political power, the Evangelical movement and its allies call upon the likes of Pompeo to use the power of the American Empire to curtail the anti-Christian policies of Modi's BJP.

Indian Christians and ADF: Sacral Lands and Christian Persecution

Sacralism often includes the land itself. The culture and state are sanctified but for many religions there is a tie between the gods and the land. Biblically speaking there's a basis for this in terms of the gods, the now deposed elohim rulers of the nations. These thrones and principalities have been spoiled by Christ and Satan is bound – no longer able to deceive the nations (Matt 12.28-29, 28.18-20, Col 2.15, Rev 20.2-3).

French Fighter Jets, the BJP and 2019 (updated)

N.B.- I had to make some changes to this article. Modi has just stunned everyone by cutting a deal with Putin. The narrative has shifted. These moves will certainly be the talk of the town for the people within the military-intelligence complex. For them this shift will be a far bigger story than the Supreme Court circus.

The information here is hardly earth-shattering but nevertheless indicates and confirms a few points.
India is clearly expanding its military and making plans for the possibilities of a two-front war. The ever closer Pakistan-China alliance and the fact that India has fought wars with both countries means that New Delhi believes it must plan accordingly. A future conflict could quickly become multi-faceted and escalate into a regional war.

Christian Persecution in Nepal

Rarely gaining much attention in the international news, Nepal is garnering attention due to its position between India and China and increasingly it's receiving focus due to religious tensions.
A majority Hindu nation, there is great concern and hostility to Christian proselytism and the Himalayan republic is starting to put pressure on missionaries and church leaders. Laws which were passed last year are now being implemented and as of August 2018 sentencing guidelines are set to become significantly harsher. Many fear the state will look the other way if mob violence is used against Christians.

The Guardian and the Dalits of Nepal

In the Hindu sphere it is almost natural that the Dalits or Untouchables would be the most likely group to embrace Christianity with its message of universal salvation and its largely egalitarian ecclesiastical construct. I use the term egalitarian with hesitation because it is used by others in different ways and I don't want to be misunderstood. Biblical Egalitarianism does not mean the elimination of male and female roles both in the family and in the Church but it certainly does mean an elimination of class distinctions, something at the core of many Asian societies.
