Thought-Crime, Entrapment and Blackmail

With the tracking of virtually all data and the synthesis and analysis of everything we're doing, we are reaching a point that is reminiscent of themes out of some of the most frightening dystopian fiction.

Thought-crime is becoming a reality.

This story is terrifying. I'm not defending the kid. He's more stupid than anything else. But he didn't actually 'do' anything. CBS also covered this a few weeks ago.

Where is the due process? I cannot believe that a lawyer couldn't get this thrown out of court in 5 minutes.

The police used their typical tactics of extracting confessions from foolish people who don't realize what is happening to them. They manipulate people that they've worn down, plant words and ideas into their mouths and entrap them. This sort of thing happens almost daily. But this case takes it to a new level.

In addition to these methods, law enforcement is using agents-provocateurs on a massive scale. Sometimes it seems like they're just as busy creating criminals to convict as they are going out and investigating actual crimes. It's certainly cheaper to entrap and extract confessions.

Our police departments have become as self-serving as any other bureaucracy and even they are manipulated from above by an agenda that is meant to subjugate and create public schizophrenia.

Part of the New Paradigm of permanent warfare is the militarization of the police. Watch the news next time there's someone holed up in an apartment. The police are starting to look more like Special Forces than law enforcement. It doesn't help that increasingly our police forces are compromised of ex-military.

We're seeing warzone vehicles and equipment being passed to the police departments. If the FBI, the NSA and the police start to integrate filtered and analyzed meta-data we will have reached a point that can only be described as something out of Orwell.

This by no means suggests that 'they' will be watching 'you'. Most people like you and me are not worth looking at. We're not important. But if something else happens, an incident, a domestic call, a child services visit, a problem at work...almost anything can provide a trigger that can bring down a mountain of speculation and threat upon you. District Attorney's like to get convictions. They are more than happy to cut quick plea deals and make bargains in order to score another point. Getting re-elected is far more important than justice.

The new methods mean access to new tools. And they will be able to sufficiently scare you, so that you'll sign anything to get them off your back. For many people the threat of exposure would be enough. The police will be able to reveal internet habits, reading, places visited, and phone calls. They will make connections that may or may not exist. But it can prove harmful to your relationships. It can mean losing a job. If they want to break you they will have the means to do it.

It's not crime investigation. It's something much closer to blackmail and is reminiscent of Totalitarian tactics.

Our justice system is every bit as out of control as our law enforcement. We have prisons for profit, campaigning officials (DA's and Judges) and police departments looking for revenue. The destruction of your life is not their concern.

I don't think we need to panic. We don't need to be paranoid. But I think we had better be watching and for those who have been asleep since the end of the Cold War...it would be an act of wisdom to wake up and realize what is happening.

All of this will play out in the Church. All the more when we consider the American Church quite literally venerates people who wear the uniforms that represent the power of American state.
