Science is on the cusp of great change. There are social forces
holding it back but given they have no ethical foundations or anchors, the
flood that is coming will prove overwhelming. All it will take is for someone
to poke a hole in the dyke and it will quickly collapse. This was proven true
with regard to the ethics of sexuality. Science isn't any different.
From the various permutations of transgender abomination...
pseudo-men bearing children to pseudo-women having implanted wombs, we are
living in the days of Noah, days of an increased demonic activity.
Chimeras are perhaps nothing new. The demonic forces
unleashed in the antediluvian epoch sinned against the plants and the animals.
According to ancient tradition they also taught sorcery and the manipulation of
nature. They taught men the inner workings of the universe so that they could
be utilised and perverted.
Much that is taking place in theoretical science, in the
manipulation of nature qualifies as sorcery. It's one thing to make tools that
harness the Earth's energy, it's another to seek godlike power over
environment, to manipulate nature (and even thought) in a quest for god-like
dominion and creative power. There's a warning in this for the Church as well,
as there is a theological variant or version of this ideology that effectively
has become the dominant orthodoxy. There's a spectrum of course that some
condemn at the extremes, but in terms of the mainstream, from Evangelicalism to
both modernist and even traditionalist Catholicism, the call to Dominion has
opened the doors.
Alchemy wasn't just about seeking wealth in the changing of base
metals into gold. On the contrary it was a deeply metaphysical quest seeking
for the philosopher's stone, the key to all knowledge and the mastery of the
material order. Today we might speak of a unified theory, or point to the kinds
of experiments taking place at CERN. And we certainly might point to tools like
CRISPR and other genetic endeavours.
The materialist orthodoxy of our day is dismissive of
metaphysical categories. As Biblicist Christians we might also dismiss them in
terms of philosophical predication or certainty but like it or not we cannot dismiss
the metaphysical basis of reality. These men are tinkering with things and
forces they cannot possibly imagine.
2 Peter and Jude both evoke the cosmology of 1 Enoch and
certainly the early Church was familiar with and also echoed the same paradigms
and narratives concerning the antediluvian order as presented in Genesis 6 as
well as the nature of the Nephilim. While it is commonly held that demons are
essentially fallen angels the older understanding actually made a distinction.
The fallen angels who sinned have been relegated to Tartarus as the New
Testament itself makes clear. However the Nephilim being hybrid-type
abominations have not yet been cast into the abyss. As disembodied giants
(gigantes in the LXX) they wander the earth seeking incarnation. The possess
individuals, animals and seek to sow turmoil and apparently find some
satisfaction in the demeaning and debasement of those made in God's image. They
lurk, haunt, rage, disseminate chaos and violence and drive men to evil and
self-destruction.
The lore of sorcery has always pointed to perversions of
nature, of monstrosities contra naturam
and of men seeking to utilise and harness the power of the spiritual and
material world for their own wicked ends and aspirations.
And yet they play with fire. What will they create? Will
these entities have souls? As the origin of the soul remains a source of
controversy and debate, the truth is... no one really knows. What would a
soulless entity look like? Could it function? Would it be animate? Could something
else inhabit it, something seeking embodiment?
These are legitimate questions and yet in all honesty we just
don't know. But we ought to be thinking about these things? What about in
cyberspace and in the virtual universe? Can spiritual entities function in such
a realm, in such a parallel reality? Can they control an avatar or influence
someone represented by one? What sort of chaos might they induce? What sort of
influence might they gain?
There are no real answers to these questions for they are
beyond us but clearly this science is out of bounds. Just as much of what
passes for theoretical physics and astrophysics is in fact metaphysical
philosophy, it must be understood that this cutting edge research biology and
genetic engineering is no longer science but sorcery. Once again it is masked
by the consequentialist imperative... the end justifies the means.
But we must reject both the end and the means of man's
attempt to control nature and manipulate it. They're not submitting to God's
post-lapsarian order but instead seek to supplant it and to rule in God's
stead. It's evil and doomed to fail... and yet their failure might look like
success to those who have closed their eyes and their hearts. Many are
enchanted by the productions and gadgetry of the tech world. Likewise many are
ignorant to the self-control they relinquish and the perils of mind
manipulation they have invited.
Maybe science will succeed in cloning or creating a viable
chimera or something to that end. And yet whatever 'gains' they think they've
made are certain to turn into nightmares.
