Ostensibly arriving in Kyiv on 8 September 2022 to offer aid,
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was there to further promote the war.
Visiting with the injured and afflicted was a photo op – fodder for the media
to continue its propaganda campaign directed at the American public. The images
and statements are meant to promote outrage and yet in other contexts (where
the victims are the result of American operations) these same images and
realities are covered up.
Blinken's statements were at times incredible and one is left
wondering if he really is that blind to the truth or are his ethics so
mercenary and jaded that he literally has no conscience.
He presents the fight as one over democracy and freedom and
liberal government – even though Ukraine is replete with corruption. Before the
invasion it was this very corruption that was the focus of news coverage.
Zelenskiy was in the process of establishing an authoritarian regime,
corrupting the judicial process and so forth. Washington and Brussels wanted to
shift Kyiv into the orbit of the EU and NATO but it was seemingly hopeless as
the nation was mired in financial and anti-democratic corruption.
The present fight isn't over democracy or freedom. The US through
its provocations and machinations all but instigated this war as part of its
larger geopolitical concerns and goals. The Ukrainians are fodder and every
attempt at peace has been shut down. Now, the Ukrainians are being encouraged
to widen the war and in light of Russia's failures all restraints are being
removed. The US has already stated it wants to weaken Russia and other leaders
such as Boris Johnson and Liz Truss have echoed this and done all they can to
egg on the process. What NATO is getting is war on the cheap – no Western lives
lost and the costs will be passed on to the public, while the investors get
rich. Blinken is a key figure in implementing this disgusting and obscene plan –
one every bit as morally bankrupt and murderous as that of Vladimir Putin.
Blinken says he was 'able to bear witness to horrific attacks
on buildings clearly belonging to civilians where shelling, missiles, the
bullets – it's all there and at best it's indiscriminate at worst it's
intentional.'
That's quite a statement coming from a US official – a real
moral condemnation of a nation like Russia that would wage war in such a
fashion.
Once again is Blinken blind or does he simply assume his
audience is both blind and utterly stupid? I am left wondering if he is in fact
a serious person or some kind of pathetic figure worthy of ridicule.
His statements could be directly applied word-for-word not
just to America's wars of the past but to its recent conflicts in Iraq and
Afghanistan. But that was all the past someone will say. We won't speak of
those thousands upon thousands killed by American led operations all but indistinguishable
from what Putin is doing in Ukraine.
But no, it's not even the past, or recent past. The US is
still killing innocent civilians all around the world via drone strikes,
bombings, Special Forces raids, and likewise through its various proxies.
Blinken's 'indiscriminate/intentional' statement could be applied to US
operations in Syria, its proxy war in Yemen, and various African operations.
And would Blinken mention what US-ally Israel does in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip and has been doing for decades?
Men like Blinken make excuses for these deaths – which regime
outlets like NPR whitewash, spin, and refuse to cover. They're accidents,
collateral damage, or the fault lies in fact with the people being bombed. Those
lives don't matter, their children are not to be pitied.
People such as Blinken, these agents of empire and their servants in the propaganda ministries have no morals, no souls, and no interest in truth.
