I recommend this article because even though it's far more pro-Israel than I would be, and far more critical of Anti-Zionism than I think warranted, the author nevertheless is sceptical of Elise Stefanik and her supposedly pro-Jewish credentials.
It was her appointment by Trump to UN Ambassador that prompted Salkin (a Rabbi) to pen this piece. And in terms of raising questions about her, he's absolutely correct. She is deeply connected to the extreme fringe of the Trumpite religious movement and embraces the theories spouted by those who are (at their core) Anti-Semitic. The Great Replacement Theory relies on a construct concerning 'elites' - many of whom are Jews determined to subvert White Christian civilization. The assumptions behind this are problematic from the outset. Likewise she has paid lip-service to QAnon and other groups that equate the grand conspiracy with Kabbalah - a mystical tradition that is alien to the Old Testament, but deeply rooted in historic Judaism and in particular among the groups that are deemed (somewhat incorrectly) to be conservative.
What I think to be very strange are her recent statements regarding the fact that the Jews have a 'Biblical' right to the land. It's a statement one would expect to hear from a Dispensationalist-inspired Evangelical, not a Roman Catholic. It's certainly not a view that would be held within Catholicism which rightly rejects the abiding validity of Judaism or any kind of Jewish claim to Palestine. Sadly, Roman Catholicism has due to its own Judaizing doctrinal tendencies launched crusades in order to hold the so-called 'holy land' and centuries of Constantinianism fostered Anti-Semitism and pogroms in Europe as the Jews represented a cancer within their monolithic-cultural vision - which itself represents a departure from New Testament Christianity. Either way, Stefanik's understanding of these questions remains under a cloud of confusion.
Regardless of her own confused and immoral thinking, the fact that Trump appointed Mike Huckabee as the ambassador to Israel sends a clear signal and we're already seeing Netanyahu making his latest move. While Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria simmer, the West Bank has fallen within his sights and there's good reason to believe Trump and Netanyahu are planning to strike Iran with the hope of bringing down the Shiite Revolutionary regime.
I'm sorry to report that we will likely be turning back to Stefanik in the coming days. Next to the Secretary of State, the UN Ambassador plays a large and consistently odious role in the promotion of the Empire and its endless campaigns of mendacity and murder. And Stefanik now sits in that position and is already the recipient of great support and praise from the American Evangelical community - a further testimony to its ever-growing apostasy.
