FLN, Disinformation, and Iran

Today on the Family Life Network (FLN), radio personality Robbie Price reported that despite US efforts, the Iranians are just not interested in trying to come to a peaceful solution. This is evidenced by the military drills conducted in the Strait of Hormuz.

Price just left it there and moved on to the next story.

As such, his reporting constitutes disinformation. He conveniently ignored the fact that Trump has already sent an aircraft carrier strike group to the region. Given the lead-up to the Venezuela raid, Tehran has every reason to believe the US is planning a strike - perhaps even a decapitation strike. Trump and his gang of thugs have indicated an interest in taking out the Ayatollah.
Additionally, the US deceived Iran just prior to the 12 Days War last June. Trump had indicated a willingness to negotiate and then promptly attacked with bunker buster bombs and tomahawk missiles. Tehran has every reason to believe current US overtures are disingenuous, all the more as Washington's demands are issued in gangster/ultimatum style as opposed to genuine diplomatic overtures.

And if this wasn't enough, there are reports of scores of cargo flights (C17's and others) flooding into the Middle East - a sign of US bases making preparations, bolstering defenses and the like.

And finally, Trump has signalled that another carrier battle group is en route to the region.

Just who then is agitating for war?

The FLN report conveniently left all these elements out of its reporting and consequently deceived its audience as to the actual status of the tensions, negotiations, and degrees of militarism. It was to say the least - journalistic malpractice but this is par for the course with FLN. Most of the time FLN doesn't really qualify as anything 'serious'. They're not trying to steer or mislead - the general perception is incompetence. Price thinks that reporting news is about crafting alliterations and using all kinds of cool talk and nicknames. He's a DJ, a clown - not a journalist or even a reporter, unless maybe when it comes to sports. That's the one area that he probably exhibits some competence.

And I must say when compared to the likes of American Family Radio (the Wildmon Family's AFR) - FLN seems not only tame but measured and responsible. Such is the state of Christian news media - it's completely sold out to its Right-wing allies and political masters and as such is not actually Christian in any meaningful form. They can talk about Christian Worldview all they want, but clearly they have no clue as to what that actually might mean.

But this grieves me as I know of people who rely on outlets like FLN and AFR for news - and worse, they actually trust these people. And as such, men like Price and his team will give an account for their deeds.
