Lindell who is closely connected to Trump and was involved in
the post-election coup plotting (that culminated in the failed January 6 putsch)
has been a rising star in Christian Right circles. At the same time he has
alienated sponsors and been forced out of some media circles. It's been
remarkable (if disconcerting) to watch how the Evangelical community has
rallied around him.
I've written about Lindell before and his sham appearance on Iron Sharpens Iron with Chris Arnzen.
Lindell is a fraud and I'm not just talking about his business dealings. He's a
spiritual fraud far more committed to mammon and Trumpism than to Christ (who
he clearly does not know) and understanding something of how he arrived at his
present point is interesting to say the least. The fact that people like Arnzen
are willing to play along is telling and there are a lot of people involved who
are far more important than Arnzen – people who have tapped Lindell for greater
things. As many readers will already know he's all but declared his candidacy
for governor of Minnesota in 2022.
I don't bother with The Young Turks (TYT) much. There's
always been some good content to be found on their channel but I don't really
care for the packaging or style. They're lost people and so their insight is
limited. That said, there are times when the show is solid and worth a look and
it should be noted that it's nothing less than Judgment when unbelievers are
speaking more truth than those who profess to be members of Christ's Kingdom.
It's been a few years since I watched one of their videos but this one caught
my eye.
Invited by (or via) Evangelical actor Stephen Baldwin to a
meeting of The Family – the semi-secretive and conspiratorial group (one of
many) that quietly works to unite and orchestrate the strategy of the
Christian-Right in its attempts to implement Dominionism in the United States, Lindell
was effectively 'tapped' in the same way Bilderberg, CFR, and WEF-Davos promote
figures in the political world.
Lindell had the media presence, celebrity, and money. They
wanted him on board with the project and he was willing. I would feel bad for
him – as I think he's been deceived on many levels – except for the fact that
he's engaged in evil and deceit in the name of Christ and worse he's been
facilitated and supported by Christian leaders that should know better,
certainly about Lindell's status and the dangerous and deceitful political
movement he's part of it.
The Young Turks do not understand Christian conversion and so
they mock Lindell and believe that he's stupid and was manipulated. There's
undoubtedly some truth to that observation and yet they lack the true tools to
dissect Lindell and the context of his rise and connections to Trump. This exposé
video should be made by Christians – but they're more than willing to ride the
lie if 'good' may come of it – good being their own flourishing, enrichment,
and empowerment. And so it will never happen.
I cannot agree with The Young Turks and their view of the
world but I will freely and openly agree with them on one point – the National
Prayer Breakfast should be shut down. Christians should be calling for it and
they should be calling out Mike Lindell and disassociating themselves from him.
