With everything going on in the Ukraine I've been wondering
why there hasn't been more discussion about Transnistria, Moldova, Abkhazia and
the 'game' going on in Central Asia. A larger perspective on the geopolitics
and history since the end of the Cold War would help people to understand why
the US/EU and Russia are in this tug-of-war over Ukraine.
What will be fascinating to see is how this all plays out politically within the EU. Will the rising anti-EU Nationalism play into this? Will the Russians fund Right-wing movements not because they want to support Neo-Fascism but simply to undermine the EU?
The EU is once again caught in the middle and I guarantee they're not happy about it. A new Cold War with Kiev as the new Berlin is not going to make anyone happy, but Europe stands to lose the most.
Today's headline:
ReplyDeleteMcCain: 'Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country'
Someone should point out that-
McCain is a war criminal masquerading as a senator.
Ha ha, very true.
ReplyDeleteAs Tevye might have said to Lazar Wolf.... You didn't win, we don't have to listen to your little sayings.
Thanks for visiting V Putin. (wink)
