Texas Checkpoints, the War on Drugs and Highway Robbery

This video is enlightening, exposing yet another facet of this hopelessly corrupt and pointless cultural war. And like the sheriff says, they've failed. The social costs are beyond calculation.
Just as a supplemental note... It's not mentioned in the film but these checkpoints also function as a 'shakedown'. Many people pass through and just like in the video are ushered into a waiting room while the car is searched. Unlike the teenage fools in this film they are released, and it's only much later that they discover cash and valuables are missing.
It's quite obvious the police are stealing from the citizenry. There have been numerous stories in recent years about people being pulled over, detained and then being released to find their cash gone.
And there's virtually nothing you can do about it.
It's quite literally highway robbery.
Thankfully as society collapses these checkpoints and other such attempts at creating a police state will fade away.
But... if it's revenue they're after, they may keep these things running and let the murderers go free. Sometimes it seems like we're already there. The police are often keen to go after the easy money rather than deal with anything that will lead to costly prosecutions.
This is also why most District Attorneys wield the plea-bargain as a weapon and very rarely go to trial.
Our system is beyond broken. The powder keg is being packed full.

How much longer can all this go on?
