Money and the Hong Kong Protests

This is the other side of the story when it comes to the Hong Kong protests. When you realise how much money flows into some of these protest movements one must legitimately question their democratic and 'grass roots' nature.

Were the protests seeded from the very beginning or is this a matter of external sources seeking to perpetuate and amplify them? It's a question that's impossible to answer but once again this points to a page in the old CIA playbook. This is what they did in Iran in 1953 and it has been used many times since.
Where is the money coming from? It will be difficult if not impossible to tell as any 'big' or governmental players will certainly work through proxies... corporations, NGO's and other shell entities in order to launder the money and cover their tracks.
It's also noteworthy how little play this story has received in mainstream Western media... which is also no surprise as the media is but an arm of the very powers (or their proxies) funding the protests in Hong Kong.
HSBC has a long history of money laundering and corruption but in this case the bank needs to stay in Beijing's good graces as it does not want to lose its place in the Hong Kong financial structure. Frankly the Anglo-American Establishment doesn't want to see HSBC kicked out of Hong Kong either. It's an important facet of Western financial power and has repeatedly served an important role in how power is executed and maintained.
Additionally, what does this say about the Church? While the protest movements aren't specifically an ecclesiastical affair, nevertheless the churches have expressed support and there's been a strong 'Christian' element to the protests both in terms of leadership (figures such as Joshua Wong), song and otherwise.
Once again the Church's testimony and integrity is compromised by those who would manipulate the Bride of Christ to supplement their own aspirations for worldly power. Or in other cases their heresy has so perverted the New Testament doctrine of the Kingdom that they've completely lost their way and think godliness is gain and that the Kingdom is built through political feats and power rooted in the sword.
Sadly though, we must confess that those who are being beaten by the authorities are not being persecuted, nor are they suffering for Christ's sake. In fact they are simply being punished, suffering as evildoers and meddlers in other people's affairs. Rejecting the mandate and calling to be pilgrims and exiles they have confused the sword and mammon with the Kingdom and are in fact in disobedience to the doctrines laid out by the apostle in Romans 13 and elsewhere. They are not praying for quiet and peaceable lives, instead they are resisting the power ordained by God and thus have brought judgment upon themselves.
Are they resisting sinful commands? No, in fact they're asserting and demanding rights and powers not granted by Scripture but instead are rooted in Western philosophy... which corrupt and hermeneutically erroneous theologians have fused (sometimes ad hoc) with elements of Biblical doctrine.
Add in the corrupting factor of money and what it does to the integrity of their words and conduct... and the whole affair is a cause to lament. We can only hope they will repent, renounce the protests and embrace New Testament obedience.
But now more than ever, once they lay down the sword (for that is effectively what they have taken up), they will be forced to take up the cross. Apostate Western Christianity won't have it and they've taught their Chinese brethren all too well.
